Course Description
Credit Validation for MARIO Education Participants Only
This course offers participants the opportunity to dig deep into MARIO Education’s evidence-based intervention, The MARIO Approach, as well as one-to-one learning conversations that are strategic and targeted with the end goal of developing learner autonomy. Through the completion of this course and implementation of one-to-one learning conversations, participants will understand how to connect more meaningfully with the learners they serve, allowing them to model behaviors which result in tremendous personal growth as self-directed learners. Participants will explore core elements of The MARIO Framework in enough depth to begin implementation within their context. For anyone wanting to utilize MARIO, this is a course designed to be both informative and digestible.
Embedded within this Self-Study course are examples of aligned MARIO for Me software features as well as the opportunity to experience a feature of the software. A unique aspect of every MARIO Education course is the incorporation of high-quality research, both seminal and innovative in nature. Participants will walk away with practical applications for current scientific findings.

University of San Diego – Graduate-Level Extension Credit Information
The University of San Diego partners with this program to offer graduate-level extension credit(s) in semester hours through the Credit Validation Program. To earn units, participants must register for and successfully complete coursework through the external program provider.
Credits earned through USD’s Credit Validation Program are widely accepted by many school districts and universities across the United States for purposes such as license renewal, required professional development hours, short-term skill building, salary advancement, credentialing, and potential advanced degree pathways. These units do not apply toward a master’s or higher degree program at the University of San Diego; however, they may be transferable to advanced degree programs (e.g., MA, EdD, PhD) at other institutions that accept external graduate-level credits.
Participants are responsible for confirming acceptance, transcript requirements, deadlines, and applicability of units with their employing district or intended institution prior to enrollment.
