Course Description

Develop Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Specifically for Multilingual Learners in Your Classroom

In this course, Creating Impactful English Language Development (ELD) Lessons, participants will learn how English Language Learners learn best and design lessons that will lead to optimal student success.  This course will look at research and determine the potential academic benefits to different English Language Development instruction.  We will explore the components of designated and integrated ELD lessons to create success for students of varying language proficiency.

Learner Outcomes

  • Recognize the advantages of explicit English Language Development lessons
  • Analyze their classroom or school setting to determine what  research-based pedagogies would benefit students' language needs
  • Design an implementation map for an English Language Development lesson
