Showcase Diversity through All Aspects of Learning

In this course, Culturally Relevant and Responsive Teaching, you will learn a broad contextual basis for identifying cultural perspectives in the classroom and curriculum.  Insights into culture can enrich the learning process, teach appreciation and acceptance, and lead to a more inclusive environment.  This course will help educators to become more attuned with the ever-increasing diversity that we see in our classrooms and schools.

  • Evaluate pedagogical strategies and responses to teaching diverse groups
  • Create a culturally inclusive classroom environment
  • Develop norms and instructional strategies for a culturally inclusive classroom

Number of Units: 2.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours

Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for teachers (Grade K-12), counselors, administrators and support staff whom are teaching/working in diverse environments that do not reflect their own upbringing or culture.
