Course Description
Master Health Information Management EHR Modules for Patient Access and Revenue Cycles
This course will provide students with an overview and fundamental understanding of a wide variety of health information management functions within the Electronic Health Records System (EHR). Students will learn concepts essential to the health information management EHR module, which includes document management, coding, scanning and archiving, registration, community-wide scheduling, patient accounting, authorization management and referral management. Students will engage with and understand the associated EHR desktops and the interdisciplinary processes within each needed to carry out efficient and safe care of patients.
Learner Outcomes
- Navigate the health information management EHR module and the modules associated with document management — including coding, scanning and archiving
- Master the registration processes in the EHR
- Understand the community wide scheduling processes within the RCG module
- Utilize the revenue cycle (patient accounting) as well as the authorization and referral management areas within the ARMG application
