Course Description

Do More with Additional Funding: Learn How to Write Winning Grant Proposals

This course will provide students with the guidance, tools, and practice needed to write competitive nonprofit grant proposals for both foundation and public funding. Students will learn the step-by-step process of grant preparation while receiving direct feedback on their writing and proposal organization. Topics will include Getting Grant-Organized; Developing Key Grant Components; Integrating Program Evaluation and Budgeting; and Writing and Submitting a Final Proposal.

Learner Outcomes

  • Interpret a Request for Proposal (RFP); and prospect for and identify which grant opportunities to prioritize
  • Define and implement a step-by-step approach to writing strong, competitive proposals for foundation grants and public funds
  • Utilize worksheets and activities related to the key elements of grant proposals
  • Hone writing skills by developing a mock proposal
  • Use data and research to improve your proposals
