Credit Validation for Jostens Participants Only
This course is designed to enhance an educator's comfort in a journalism-focused Project Based Learning classroom. Students will understand organizational strategies to foster creativity and productivity, ways to ensure the production of a quality product, grading and marketing. The course will give participants the skills needed to teach a journalism course to middle/junior high and high school students.
Learner Outcomes
- Develop expertise in areas of desktop publishing, photography, layout design and journalism techniques
- Classroom management skills specific to a journalism-focused Project Based Learning classroom
- Understanding of journalism and teaching strategies in the areas of staff organization, leadership, marketing as it pertains to publishing a yearbook
Course Details
Number of Units: 3.0 graduate-level extension credits in semester hours
Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for educators who are Yearbook/Journalism class advisers.
