In this course/workshop you will learn about the field of children's user research (with a focus on technology and media) and how you can leverage your background and experience working with children to a new space and industry. Students will gain a foundational understanding of children’s user research through hands-on and practice oriented curriculum. Real world case studies and examples from the children’s technology and media space will be shared. Students will learn:
- What user research is and how it informs product development
- How understanding child development lends to successful children’s research design and implementation
- How to best design children's research
- Various research methods
- Best practices for implementation
