Course Description

Credit Validation for DoDEA Participants Only 

In this course, participants will examine the of the uses of assessment practices and strategies to improve student learning. Special emphasis will be placed on authentic, student-centered practices for assessment and grading. Additionally, participants will become familiar with DoDEA expectations and approved resources for evaluating student performance.

Learner Outcomes

  • Identify key principles of a learner-centered paradigm of student assessment
  • Deepen knowledge of standards-based grading practices and their application to the College and Career Ready standards
  • Understand DoDEA expectations for grading and assessment
  • Access and evaluate resources for grading and assessment
  • Develop effective grading tools to assess student work and to promote learning in the classroom

Number of Units: 2.0 - 3.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours, please choose the correct section. 

Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for DoDEA Educators.
