Become a Champion for Bullying Prevention with Online Convenience

Bullying: An Introduction addresses one of the most pervasive and concerning issues facing students, parents, teachers and schools today. According to current research, most teachers find bullying hard to accurately identify and are unsure how to address it, yet it affects their classrooms and school climates and impacts student learning and success. This course will provide participants with an introduction to research, helpful resources and practical strategies for addressing and preventing bullying.  Courses that follow this introductory course will take educators into more detailed coverage: Bullying: Issues of Gender and Race, Bullying and the Internet, and Bullying Prevention.

Learner Outcomes

  • Identify key elements of bullying behavior
  • Examine the types of bullying and their short- and long-term effects
  • Identify populations most at risk of being bullied or becoming bullies
  • Evaluate research on bullying from around the world
  • Analyze current resources and programs available to combat bullying
  • Develop strategies for addressing bullying
