Course Description

Credit Validation for UC Berkeley History-Social Science Project Participants Only

UC History-Social Science Project, in collaboration with the Santa Clara County Office of Education, will engage students in exploring how civic action concepts and strategies can be applied to the study of course content to provide a unique lens into history and to prepare students for civic engagement projects as part of their H-SS course.

Learner Outcomes

Locate places in curriculum in which civic change concepts and strategies can be introduced
Scaffold the introduction of social-change concepts and strategies
Adapt a strategy from the course to fit a particular historical or contemporary analysis

Number of Units: 1.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours

Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for in-service educators in K-12 schools and districts. Pre-service teachers are also eligible.
