Course Description

Demonstrate Your Newfound Practical Data Engineering Skills

The online Practical Data Engineering Capstone course is the culmination of three previous engineering courses. In this final course, you will challenge yourself to craft an end-to-end data pipeline project from scratch — an accomplishment that will not only showcase your expertise, but can be leveraged as practical evidence of your abilities in professional interviews.

Beyond refining your applicable hard skills, this capstone course will instruct you in the art of presenting data projects and insights to non-technical stakeholders. Ultimately, you will learn to elevate your communication skills and amplify the impact of your data engineering work.

Upon completing the Practical Data Engineering Capstone project, you'll possess the hands-on experience needed to kickstart your career as a data engineer or to further expand your skill set and unlock a world of opportunities in the dynamic data engineering landscape. Before enrolling, students must complete Data Engineering Fundamentals (PDE-X800), Practical Data Extraction (PDE-X801), and Practical Data Integration (PDE-X802).

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will gain confidence in addressing real-world data engineering challenges within the AWS ecosystem, and in practicing industry standards. This course will provide students with necessary knowledge to start or augment their careers, and identify new pathways in data engineering to further specialize.
