Course Description

Explore the Positive Effects of Technology for Your Students

This course investigates the equitable use of social networking, online learning, mobile technologies and web-based applications in the classroom. The application of these technologies in the classroom is geared to help educators facilitate and strengthen teaching and learning in mathematics and science. While integrating these technologies, the participant will explore the implications of technology for learners. You will expand your online presence by building a digital professional learning community using Twitter and other approaches to encourage the legal and ethical use of the Web and other software. Additionally, you will explore digital applications, such as Google Apps for Education, to enhance a learner’s ability to explain and interpret their learning. Finally, you will learn how to incorporate blended learning through a “flipped classroom” and “flipped mastery” model of teaching.
