Demonstrate Your Newfound Data Analytics Skills in a Data Analysis with Visualization Report

This course is the capstone course for the Data Analytics and Visualization Certificate program. The goal of this course is to integrate the knowledge and skills gained from the three previous courses to create a proposal, prepare and analyze data, create visualizations, and present a comprehensive data analytics project. Visualizations will include graphs and charts embedded in the presentation, as well as a final interactive dashboard, ideally hosted on the web for use in the student e-portfolio. Upon completion of this data analytics and visualization course, students will be able to effectively utilize Excel, Tableau, Python, and R for data analysis in a variety of professional settings.

Learner Outcomes

  • Complete an A-Z analysis project that follows the entire data analytics lifecycle
  • Understand how to properly create a data analytics presentation
  • Isolate business need questions and translate them to analytics objectives
  • Choose and apply appropriate analysis tools and techniques for analytics objectives
  • Log and evaluate methodology used to complete analysis
  • Collect and professionally present results of analyses using Assertion-Evidence presentation style
  • Create interactive dashboards that can be used to interpret and verify analysis conclusions

Technical Requirements

Prerequisites

This is the fourth and final course in the Data Analytics and Visualization Certificate program. 

Required successful completion of:

  • DAV-X800 Essentials of Analytics in Excel
  • DAV-X801A Data Visualization & Storytelling in Tableau
  • DAV-X801B Data Analytics with Python and R

A Bachelor's degree or currently in a bachelor's program, with a basic mathematics background preferred, with at least one course, preferably, in basic statistics taken at the college level.
