Course Description

Tour San Diego's Top Real Estate Developments

This lecture series consists of four distinct development project site visits. The projects visited and studied represent a variety of uses --- residential, office, retail/restaurants, hotel and mixed-use in distinct San Diego markets. While most of our courses “talk the talk,” this course will “walk the walk” by touring the projects and understanding what made these projects unique. Each session will take place at a new designated location where your instructor and developer will explain the evolution of that particular real estate development.

"USD's "Projects in Action" real estate extension course is a must do for anyone pursuing a career in real estate development or any related supportive fields. Gary London's influence and experience opens doors and sheds light on the top projects and high profile developers in San Diego County. We were given exclusive access, guided tours to four projects - led by the developers themselves. Be prepared to take lots of notes - you will learn about the best practices, pain, and patience required - to complete a successful real estate development from the ground up. I highly recommended this course." — Doug Taber, Your Apartment Broker, Coldwell Banker West
"This course has been very insightful and very hands on. I really enjoyed going from site to site and seeing the different ideas and plans. I learned a great deal from to the project manager speaking not only about the project that we were looking at but also past projects. It was also nice to hear about their background as well. I am very new to real estate and this course helped a ton. I learned a lot about mix-use and how it is becoming more and more prevalent. I thought it was a very interesting point that people that live in San Diego don’t necessarily eat/shop in San Diego because of the commute. I love how mixed use can bring living and shopping all to one place. I also really enjoyed learning about the businesses and the three core amenities they produce. I thought it was smart to have a nice gym and bicycles to promote healthy lifestyles and competitions for businesses/tenants." — Tami Friedrich
