Course Description
Begin this Exploration and Bring History into Today's Classroom
This course is designed for K-14 educators to develop an appreciation for one of the most dramatic periods in world history: from the Vikings and Chinese explorers to the travels of the Islamic world and from Europe’s discoveries in the late 15th century to more recent exploration during the 20th Century. Students will investigate explorers from around the world and throughout different time periods, and will analyze and compare and contrast these explorers and their motives for bringing glory to themselves and their countries. As a final, cumulative project students will design inspiring lesson plans that will bring history to life. In this course you will be guided by an audio course (which averages seven hours), published by the Recorded Book's Modern Scholar, and provided supplemental material.
