Course Description

Connect, Collaborate with Other Teaching Professionals to Share and Grow Beyond the Classroom

Many educators are utilizing, if not pioneering, creative learning pathways that engage students in social networking to build classroom community and inspire personal growth. However, to what extent do educators harness the full potential of social networks for their own professional growth and development? Leveraging social media in your professional learning network can be transformational. Used intentionally, social networking can provide a venue so rich in information, resources, and support it can revitalize or completely shift your career path. This course will direct you to experience social media as a connected educator, to rethink your digital identities, and to utilize good networking practices for communication and sharing. You will be empowered to practice and reflect upon your use of social networking functions across five major platforms: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
