Course Description

Credit Validation for DoDEA Participants Only

This course is designed to provide teachers, building leaders, and staff the opportunity to study intentional planning through the lens of clarity using The Teacher Clarity Playbook by Fisher et al. (2024). It involves using research-based methods to identify concepts and skills needed from the standards, sequence learning progressions, structure learning intentions and success criteria, design assessments, and create meaningful learning experiences. This is all in support of the DoDEA Blueprint expectation of Excellent Instruction, the Regional Action Plan (RAP), the District Action Plan (DAP), and School Action Plans (SAP).

Learner Outcomes

  • Engage in a book study of nine specific modules designed to intentionally plan for clarity for both teachers and students
  • Plan and implement teaching practices discussed, reflecting on their effectiveness in understanding concepts/skills, sequencing learning progressions, developing success criteria, designing assessment opportunities, and creating meaningful learning experiences
  • Take their learning to focused collaboration sessions to share successful strategies and activities with their team
  • Apply their understanding of the material to one content area during the course
