Course Description
Credit Validation, Blended Online and Zoom Format
This course is for CTE credential candidates who have not completed four semesters of teaching and have not completed at least two semesters of supervision and mentoring documentation. Candidates will focus on developing their teaching skills with lesson planning, PowerPoint presentations, mock job interviews, and CTE professional development activities.
Learner Outcomes
- Fulfill requirements for the Designated Subjects 3-year preliminary CTE credential
- Successfully complete a mock teaching job interview on Zoom
- Effectively present a lesson using Power Point on Zoom
- Utilize the California Standards for the Teaching Profession and the Teacher Performance Expectations to identify and complete professional growth activities
Course Details
Number of Units: 3.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours
Who Should Attend: Teachers who need to fulfill the requirements for the Designated Subjects 3-year preliminary CTE credentials (issued after 9/1/2010) and have not completed four semesters of teaching and have not completed at least two semesters of supervision and mentoring documentation.
Course Format: Asynchronous Online; Combination of online and three required Zoom meetings TBD by the instructor. Login information will be emailed by your instructor before the first day of class, please check your spam/junk folder. You must respond to the email to confirm the email address to be used for the course, a second email will then be sent with the invitation to join Canvas.
