Course Description
Credit Validation, Convenient Online Format
The purpose of this course is to provide candidates in the Designated Subjects Adult Education and Career Technical Education (CTE) Credential Program with an understanding of how to use the CA Model Curriculum Standards and Framework as well as the other relevant resources for curriculum planning and development of course outlines, unit plans, lesson plans and student assessments. Candidates will focus on the effective use of technology to support and enhance classroom instruction. Candidates will explore the foundations of Adult Education, CTE and business/industry partnerships.
Learner Outcomes
- Fulfill requirements for the Designated Subjects 3-year preliminary CTE credential and the 3-year preliminary Adult Education credential
- Demonstrate knowledge and use of the California Model Curriculum Standards and Frameworks to develop effective course outlines, units of instruction, lesson plans and assessments
- Demonstrate the use of technology resources to support and enhance classroom instruction and to assist students in learning
Course Details
Number of Units: 3.0 graduate level extension credits in semester hours
Who Should Attend: Teachers who need to fulfill the requirements for the Designated Subjects 3-year preliminary CTE credentials (issued after 9/1/2010) and the 3-year preliminary Adult Education credentials (issued after 2/1/2013).

Prerequisites
Completion of Foundations of Classroom Management with a grade of "C" or better.
