Course Description
Credit Validation for DoDEA Educators Only
Elementary, middle, and high school teachers will increase their knowledge of the instructional strategy referred to as Active Student Responses (ASRs). During the course, participants will engage in Professional Learning sessions to gain a better understanding of Active Student Responses, practice the strategy using low and high technologies, collect data, and inform/adjust instruction based on student responses. Teachers will implement the ASR strategy during the opening/closing of lessons using DoDEA’s instructional 20/60/20 model. Prior to the end of the course, participants will present the Professional Learning sessions to classmates to ensure their preparedness to train other educators with implementing ASRs. A course evaluation will also be completed.

- Engage in Professional Learning sessions to increase understanding of ASRs and how to implement this instructional strategy within the classroom
- Increase formative assessment opportunities by applying low and high-tech ASR strategies to increase the frequency of student responses
