Course Description

Credit Validation for DoDEA Educators Only

The course is developed around the art of teaching and the utilization of tools to help create excellent teachers. Participants will learn new techniques to create a positive and structured learning environment while fostering student engagement, comprehension, and growth. In this course, participants will gain a practical understanding of how to Check for Understanding, raise academic expectations, increase the ratio of the cognitive work students do, motivate and engage students, make classrooms more writing-intensive, improve discussions, and anticipate when it is necessary to redirect student behavior so it is positive and productive.
