Course Description

Learn how to Lead Projects Proactively Delivering Sustainable Results

This course will cover aspects of the Project Management Mindset related to creating a proactive approach to project execution and ensuring a value driven result by integrating sustainability throughout the project life cycle. Students will examine planning for and acquiring resources, anticipating and responding to risk, and determining when and how to tailor a project to meet the project’s intended outcomes. The course will include updated case studies based on those chosen in the first course as well as applying their learning to new case studies. 

Learner Outcomes

  • Identify project resources and how and when to acquire them
  • Monitor and control through implementation of RAM/RACI techniques
  • Evaluate risk and methods to address project risk
  • Examine a problem holistically

Number of Units: 2.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours

Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for those seeking a hands-on approach to gaining project management skills and methodologies.

Required Course Materials: Two Texts, A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – Eighth Edition and The Standard for Project Management by PMI (combined purchase) and An Introduction to Project Management by Kathy Schwalbe, all available at Amazon.com or your local bookstore.
