Course Description

Learn how to Estimate Costs, Manage Resources, and Communicate with Stakeholders

This course will cover aspects of the Project Management Mindset related to project ownership including developing leadership skills and building team cohesion to enable productive outcomes. Students will explore the process of evaluating resources to estimate and control project costs and likewise evaluate stakeholders and develop communication methods using appropriate tools and techniques. Students will also determine when and how to tailor a project to suit its unique needs. The course will include updated case studies based on those chosen in the first course as well as applying their learning to new case studies. 

Learner Outcomes

  • Identify stakeholders and understand how to analyze, prioritize, engage, and monitor stakeholder relationships 
  • Develop communication plans and approaches to ensure appropriate stakeholder influence and engagement 
  • Gather, evaluate, monitor and control cost components for a project 
  • Implement leadership practices
  • Create visual controls to support project execution

Number of Units: 2.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours
