Course Description

Gain the Practical Project Management Skills and Confidence to Lead any Project from Idea to Execution

This course will cover the fundamentals of project management, the role of the project manager, and the project management framework of principles, performance domains, processes and focus areas. Students will learn how to practice the project management mindset, use tools to govern project initiation through execution, and develop a sourcing strategy to optimize resources. The course will also include updated case studies for students to choose from including ones related to Energy Resources, Supply Chain and Logistics, Healthcare, Remodeling, Banking Software, and an International Business Launch.

Learner Outcomes

  • Describe the basis for the project management mindset for value delivery and the project management principles, performance domains and tools to support this
  • Apply the concepts of  the Governance Performance Domain and the role it plays in the success of a project in each of the focus and process areas
  • Incorporate Generative AI into project management activities
  • Evaluate Sourcing Strategies in the context of project management
  • Create a Project charter and vision statement
