Course Description
Credit Validation for Overseas Art Education Association Participants Only
In this course, participants will gain in-depth knowledge, skills, and understanding of how using traditional and non-traditional art media can enhance both visual art and language arts development in students. The DoDEA anchor standards for writing, including the use of precise language and domain-specific vocabulary, will be embedded throughout the course as they relate to the visual art anchor standards of Create, Respond, Present, and Connect.

- Utilize National Core Visual Art and Writing standards in discussions and collaborative work sessions
- Collaborate with experts in the field, including Contemporary Artists, Smithsonian Educators, and National Art Education Association leaders on advocacy
- Explore and develop skills with traditional and non-traditional art media

The University of San Diego partners with this program to offer graduate-level academic units/credit. To receive units, participants must first register and complete coursework through the external program provider.
Courses offered through the USD's Credit Validation Program are accepted by many school districts and universities throughout the United States. Transcript Process: Final grades submitted by the program provider will initiate the transcript process. Grades should be submitted within 7 days of the official course end date or the course enrollment deadline—whichever comes last. Participants are responsible for ensuring their mailing address is accurate and up to date in their USD student account to avoid delays in transcript delivery.
