Course Description
Credit Validation for WestEd Participants Only
The goal of this course is to support secondary educators in designing genre-based writing instruction that strengthens English Learners’ disciplinary knowledge, analytical thinking, and language proficiency. Participants will learn to:
- Facilitate opportunities for students to listen, speak, and read in ways that lead to writing
- Plan and scaffold writing instruction to maximize language development
- Assess and gather evidence of students’ progress in oral and written language development
