Monarch Model: An Integrated Approach to Working with Students and Families, Especially Those Who Are Unhoused - EDC-X711Z
Course Description
Credit Validation for Monarch Schools Participants Only
The Monarch Model Course is designed to empower school- and community-based educators and administrators to make a lasting impact through authentic relationships with at-promise children, youth, and their families. Participants will explore an inspiring approach that integrates relationship-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and restorative practices—fostering safer, more equitable, and healing-focused educational communities.
Drawing on nearly four decades of experience—both successes and lessons learned—in working with unhoused students and families at the Monarch School Project, this curriculum offers valuable insights from interviews with staff across all levels of our organization, along with the resources that have shaped their practices.
We encourage you to bring your unique perspectives and lived experiences into this dynamic learning journey. Through engaging journal prompts, actionable strategies, and scenario-based activities, you will reflect on your successes, confront challenges, and discover simple yet impactful ways to integrate these transformative lessons into your work.
The Monarch Model Course is not merely an educational program—it is a movement to create a world where an experience of housing insecurity does not define or limit any child’s promise or potential. Are you ready to join us?
