Course Description

Credit Validation for Tilcia Studios Participants Only

The Reformer, developed by Joseph Pilates, is an extraordinarily flexible piece of exercise equipment. In this course, you’ll learn how to use the Reformer and Pilates exercises to create powerful programming designed to optimize your clients’ potential.

Learner Outcomes

  • Master the full repertoire of Pilates exercises on the Mat and Reformer, including modifications and variations to support a wide range of clients
  • Explore Balanced Body Movement Principles to develop the knowledge needed to become a transformative teacher
  • Build an understanding of the structure and function of bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments by constructing them on the Anatomy + Movement skeleton
  • Practice verbal and manual cueing techniques to effectively guide private and group Pilates sessions for beginner to advanced students and clients

University of San Diego – Academic Credit Information

The University of San Diego partners with this program to offer graduate-level academic credit. To receive credit, participants must first register and complete coursework through the external program provider.

Please Note: USD does not provide course materials, manage instruction, or assign grades. All coursework is evaluated by the program’s instructor or coordinator.

Transcript Process: Final grades submitted by the program provider will initiate the transcript process. Grades should be submitted within 7 days of the official course end date or the course enrollment deadline—whichever comes last. Participants are responsible for ensuring their mailing address is accurate and up to date in their USD student account to avoid delays in transcript delivery.

Transcript Delivery Timeline:

  • U.S. addresses: 2–3 weeks
  • International addresses: 3–4 weeks

Prerequisites

Completion and passing of the Balanced Body Movement Principles module, 20 Reformer classes, and at least 1 year of teaching movement (recommended). Anatomy coursework is required prior to the final assessment. Access to a Reformer is required for the duration of the course. A Balanced Body Reformer is strongly preferred.

Refund Policy: All Credit Validation enrollments are refundable, minus a $25 processing fee, if requested within 30 days of the enrollment date. No refunds will be issued after the 30-day period.
