Course Description
Credit Validation for Dyslexia Training Institute Participants Only
This virtual conference will feature 13 presentations. Registrants will have 24-hour access to all pre-recorded workshops and presentations throughout the entire conference duration (February 24 – March 14, 2025). After viewing each workshop, participants can post their questions on the workshop’s discussion board, where experts will provide responses.
Conference topics include: structured word inquiry, vocabulary, comprehension, linguistic concepts, advocacy, dyslexia simulation, culturally responsive teaching, curriculum-based measures (CBMs), neuroscience, the framework for the science of reading, and teaching high-frequency words.
Learner Outcomes
- Develop skills to effectively teach evidence-based vocabulary strategies and structured read-alouds that enhance language comprehension
- Apply research-based approaches to phoneme-grapheme correspondence, decoding, and word analysis to improve reading proficiency
- Integrate social-emotional learning with literacy instruction to address diverse learning needs and support students' growth
- Utilize CBM assessments and data to screen for dyslexia and implement instructional strategies that promote critical thinking and comprehension
- Design rigorous, comprehensive literacy lessons that embed multiple components of reading instruction to foster student progress and engagement
