Evaluate a new Approach to Culturally Responsive Teaching Philosophies Using Art
Culturally Relevant Teaching and Engagement Through an Art Lens will explore ways that the visual arts can be used to foster culturally responsive engagement in your classrooms. Over the length of the course you will reflect upon your own culturally responsive practices, experiment with classroom-applicable art techniques (watercolor), and study contemporary artists who exemplify diverse view points and approaches to communicating ideas. You will produce artworks, a reflective essay, make artist presentations, and finally write a lesson plan in which you apply course content to the needs of your specific teaching position.
