Anatomy and Physiology - HLTH-X821
Course Description
Dive Into Anatomy and Physiology
This anatomy and physiology course is an introduction to the human body and how it functions. This course will guide you through the various body systems as you learn how they function and interact with each other to maintain health and homeostasis. Homeostasis is the state of balance among all the body systems that are needed for the body to survive and function. You will develop an understanding of the complexities involved in anatomy and physiology through your reading, presentation activities, and case studies.
Learner Outcomes
- Identify the various levels of organization in the human body and the importance of homeostasis.
- Describe the function of the skeletal system and identify major bones, muscles, and joints.
- Identify major organs and system structures that control body functions within the nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, and immune systems.
- Explain the process the body uses in absorption to perform metabolism and identify major organs and system structures of the respiratory, digestive, and urinary systems.
- Apply the processes of reproduction and development to explain the creation of new life and its progression from a single cell to a mature organism.
