The course is a unique course that combines three distinct fields: the oil and gas industry, business, and theology. This program is designed for individuals who are interested in pursuing a finance-related career in the oil and gas sector while also holding on to theological values. The course covers essential topics in business administration and accounting, focusing specifically on the oil and gas sector. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry's operations, primarily exploration and production, with some elements of distribution and marketing. They will also learn about the various business strategies and management principles employed in this field. The course combines the principles of oil & gas finance, leadership, and theology to provide students with a solid foundation in Christian leadership within the oil & gas exploration and production industry. This program offers a practical and high-quality educational experience that prepares students for ethical and principled leadership within the industry.

  • Understand legal principles relevant to business operations
  • Analyze economic factors influencing the industry
  • Implement cost control techniques and understand measures to maximize efficiency and profitability

  • Gain expertise in managing joint ventures, including private capital, farm in/out arrangements, carried interest distribution, cash call management, taxes, risk management, and royalties

Course Details

Number of Units: 1.0- 65.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours, please choose the correct number of units upon checkout.

Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for those pursuing careers in oil and gas accounting, cost control, project management, entrepreneurship, business development, sustainability consulting, or ministry roles within oil and gas companies. Additionally, some students may choose to further their education by pursuing graduate studies in the humanities or sciences, all with the aim of making a positive impact in the world through Christ-centered values.

Directions to Enrolled Participants for University Credit: Only register for credit once you have completed your coursework. Ensure your program knows you have registered for credit and communicate that they can release your final grade to our program.

Prerequisites

A secondary school diploma or equivalent, or a high school diploma with five Grade 12 academic subjects is required. Candidates whose first language is not English and do not have a completed degree in English are expected to provide translated copies of their certificates as well as an English language proficiency test result:

  • TOEFL IBT- 92 (580 PBT, 236 CBT) with a minimum of 21 in the Listening and Speaking components, 22 in Reading and 23 in Speaking;
  • IELTS- 5.5 overall with no lower than 5.0 in any component;
  • IGCSE- English (Second Language) grade B;
  • WAEC- C6;
  • PTE- Minimum score of 50 in all of the components. Or any other acceptable equivalent qualification
  • DUOLINGO - Overall score 110+ with a minimum score of 95 on Literacy band

Refund Policy: All Credit Validation enrollments are refundable, less a $25 fee, if requested within 30 days of enrollment date. There will be no refunds for Credit Validation after the allotted 30 days.
