Course Description
Credit Validation for CASEL Participants Only
Leading Schoolwide SEL is CASEL’s in-depth, multi-session course for teams that are ready to lead social and emotional learning (SEL) strategic planning and implementation in a school setting. Learning is structured around CASEL’s Guide to Schoolwide SEL, and more information and course registration is available here. Throughout the course, participants take action to assess their school’s strengths and areas for growth, develop a shared vision and measurable SEL goals, define action steps, and explore tools they can use with their school community. Section 1 is for those who complete the live webinar workshop series, Section 2 is for those who complete the self-paced/on-demand version of the course. Learner Outcomes
- Educate others on CASEL’s Theory of Action in service of equity and excellence, including what quality SEL in a school looks like
- Develop and apply strategies to promote SEL for your students
- Provide adults in your school with strategies to strengthen adult SEL competencies and capacity
- Assess your current SEL implementation, resources, and needs
- Create goals and a plan for implementing and sustaining schoolwide SEL
Course Details
Number of Units: 1.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours. Please ensure you are enrolling in the correct section, one is for people completing the live webinar, and the other section is online self-paced.
Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for educators in a PreK-12 settings, school principals, assistant principals, school administrators, school counselors, members of SEL leadership teams. SEL district and regional leaders, specialists, coaches, coordinators, or anyone in a youth-serving organization.
